MyTrashBid ("MyTrashBid," "we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information when you access or use our website, mobile applications, services marketplace, and related products and services (collectively, the "Services").
MyTrashBid is a local-services marketplace that connects customers who need junk removal or dumpster rental with independent local haulers who bid to perform that work. By using the Services, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
This Privacy Policy applies to customers, haulers (service providers), account holders, visitors, and other individuals who interact with MyTrashBid.
Our Services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18, and MyTrashBid accounts and transactions are intended for individuals who are legally able to enter binding agreements.
The information we collect depends on how you use the Services.
Customers are required to include photographs when posting a job. These may show the items to be removed and portions of your property. Haulers and, where relevant, MyTrashBid staff may view these photographs to bid on and perform the job.
We and our payment providers may collect payment-card details, bank-account information, and other financial information necessary to process payments, authorizations, deposits, fees, refunds, or hauler payouts.
Payment-card entry and processing are handled by our third-party payment provider (Stripe) on their systems. MyTrashBid does not store complete payment-card numbers. Payment providers process this information under their own privacy policies.
We collect messages and other information you provide when you communicate through the in-app chat, contact customer support, submit a review, complete a form, or submit a complaint or dispute. See Section 6 for how in-app messages are monitored.
We collect the ZIP codes and location details you provide (for example, your service ZIP as a hauler, or a job's location as a customer) and use them to match jobs to haulers within a service radius. We may also derive approximate location from your IP address.
When you use the Services, we may automatically collect your IP address, browser and device type, operating system, device identifiers, approximate location, referring pages, pages and features viewed, dates and times of visits, interactions, and error and performance data.
Where permitted by law, we may receive information from other marketplace participants, payment processors, identity-verification and fraud-prevention providers, analytics providers, and social-media services when you sign in or interact through them (for example, Google or Apple sign-in).
We may use personal information to:
We may disclose personal information to:
Other marketplace participants — Information is shared between a customer and a hauler as needed to bid on, schedule, communicate about, perform, and complete a job, and to resolve disputes. For example, a hauler sees a job's details and photos to bid; once a bid is accepted, the customer and hauler can communicate to coordinate the work.
Service providers — Companies that provide hosting and IT, payment processing, identity verification, fraud prevention and security, customer support, email/text/chat delivery, analytics, marketing, insurance, accounting, and legal services. These providers may process personal information only as permitted by their agreements with us and applicable law.
Legal and safety disclosures — When we reasonably believe it is necessary to comply with law or legal process, respond to lawful government requests, enforce our agreements, investigate fraud or security incidents, or protect the rights, property, or safety of MyTrashBid, our users, or others.
Business transfers — In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, sale of assets, or similar transaction.
With your direction or consent.
Depending on how you use the Services, we may process information considered sensitive under applicable law, such as account credentials, government identification numbers, financial information, or precise location information. We use it only as reasonably necessary to provide the Services, verify identity, process transactions, prevent fraud, maintain security, comply with law, or with your consent. Please do not send sensitive information through unnecessary or unsecured channels.
MyTrashBid actively monitors messages sent through the in-app chat, and automatically detects and hides (masks) certain content within those messages. Please read this section carefully.
Specifically, when you send a message through the Services:
Why we do this: monitoring and masking help keep jobs, payments, and coordination on MyTrashBid, which is how we protect both customers and haulers — including maintaining a record if there is ever a dispute — and how we detect fraud and abuse. By using the in-app chat, you acknowledge and consent to this monitoring, masking, and review.
If you consent to receive text messages from MyTrashBid, we may send messages concerning your account, jobs, bids, scheduling, payments, security alerts, customer-support requests, or promotions. Message frequency may vary. Message and data rates may apply. Consent to promotional text messages is not a condition of using the Services. Reply STOP to unsubscribe or HELP for assistance. We do not share mobile opt-in information with third parties for their independent marketing purposes.
Where permitted by law, we may send information about MyTrashBid services, features, and offers that may interest you. You may unsubscribe using the link in a marketing email or by contacting us at support@mytrashbid.com. Even after opting out of marketing, you may continue to receive non-promotional messages concerning your account or transactions.
We and our service providers may use cookies, pixels, SDKs, and similar technologies to operate essential features, remember preferences, keep accounts secure, measure performance, understand usage, improve the experience, and measure advertising where permitted. You may be able to control cookies through your browser settings. Where required by law, we recognize supported opt-out preference signals, such as Global Privacy Control. Disabling certain cookies may affect the Services.
MyTrashBid does not sell personal information for money. We may disclose identifiers, device information, or usage information to analytics or advertising providers; some state privacy laws may define certain advertising disclosures as a "sale" or "sharing." Where applicable, you may opt out by contacting us at support@mytrashbid.com. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of individuals under 16 for targeted advertising.
Depending on where you live and subject to applicable exceptions, you may have the right to confirm, access, obtain a copy of, correct, or delete your personal information; to restrict or object to certain processing; to withdraw consent; to opt out of targeted advertising and qualifying sales or sharing; and to appeal a decision on a privacy request. To exercise a right, contact us at support@mytrashbid.com. We may request information reasonably necessary to verify your identity. We will not unlawfully discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.
We maintain reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards intended to protect personal information. No system is completely secure. You are responsible for protecting your password and any multi-factor authentication method, and should notify us promptly at support@mytrashbid.com if you suspect unauthorized account activity.
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to maintain your account, complete and record transactions, provide the Services, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, enforce our agreements, and meet legal, tax, and regulatory obligations. Retention periods vary based on the type and sensitivity of the information and applicable legal requirements. We may retain information (including flagged message records) longer where reasonably necessary for an investigation, dispute, or legal claim.
The Services may link to or rely on websites, applications, and providers operated by third parties (for example, our payment provider, sign-in providers, and messaging providers). MyTrashBid does not control those third parties or their privacy practices. Review their privacy policies before providing them with personal information.
Certain information is required to create an account, verify identity, post or bid on a job, accept payment, or provide another requested service. If you do not provide required information, we may be unable to open or maintain your account or complete the requested transaction.
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. When we make changes, we will publish the revised policy and update the "Last updated" date. If a change is material, we may also provide notice by email, through the Services, or by another appropriate method.
Questions, privacy requests, and complaints may be directed to MyTrashBid at support@mytrashbid.com.
